Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur in association with ACES, Alumni Cell and IEEE VCET Student Branch, VCET Puttur, had organized a technical talk on “GIT” on 9th December 2023 at DBMS Laboratory, VCET Puttur. The resource person was Mr. Dwarakanath, Software Developer, Ovyo Technology Services. He is Actively engaged in disseminating knowledge through seminars and contributed to supplementary courses, specialized in advanced Git techniques and conducted workshops to ensure optimal version control.

In the session, the resource person defined about Git and explained the important terms regarding the Git like clone, repository, pull request, merge request etc,. He also described the importance of Git and the benefits of using it in the IT Sector. Later, in hands-on workshop, participants explored the fundamental concepts of Git, the industry-standard version control system. The Workshop gave clear idea from basic commands to advanced branching strategies. He explained how Git empowers teams to collaborate seamlessly on software projects. Key highlights of the workshop were Git Fundamentals, Collaborative Workflows, Conflict Resolution, Advanced Branching and many more. The session was interesting and exciting to here new technologies to collaborate with the team in working environment.

The master of ceremony was done by Sarosh Naik K of final year CSE and introduction of guest was done by Ms. Chaitra B from final year CSE. Prof. Pramod Kumar P M, Asst. Professor, Dept of CSE welcomed the gathering and delivered vote of thanks.
