Department Overview

The Department of Civil Engineering was established in the year 2004 with intake strength of 60 students. The department is accredited by NBA for three years from 2019 – 2022. The Department is run by a team of competent faculty, good infrastructure and excellent placement records. The department focuses on quality teaching, training, community based projects, industry interactions and research activities among staff and students. A number Faculty Development Programs are conducted regularly to inculcate the technical skills, soft skills and the research. Further, the department encourages the students to participate in external and internal conferences, workshops, invited lectures and seminars along with extra-curricular/co-curricular activities like technical fests, sports/games, cultural fests, Annual Alumni Meets, to ensure overall development, nurturing of team spirit and organizational skills.

In addition to academic activities, the Department is involved in research and development works and offers consultancy and technical services to industry and society. The Alumni of the Department are employed in reputed academic institutions, industries, and government organizations in and outside India. In addition to this many of the alumni are engaged in higher studies in prestigious institutions. The Department is recognized as one of the best Civil Engineering Departments in the Coastal area of Karnataka and it has attracted large community of both rural and urban students.
