National Service Scheme and Youth Red Cross unit of Vivekananda college of engineering and technology conducted “National Pollution Control Day” on 02nd December 2022 at 11.30 am. The program has begun with formal function. Sri. Vishwanath Ajila, RTO, Puttur was the guest of honour, Sri. Rama Naik, Traffic SI, Puttur and Sri. Vishwanath Naik, Asst. RTO, Mangaluru were the chief guest of the function. Dr. Mahesh Prasanna K, Principal VCET, Puttur was the president of the function. Function started by flowering Bharath matha and swami Vivekananda. Dr. Mahesh Prasanna K Welcomed the gathering. Dr. Manujesh B J, HOD, Dept. of ME and Coordinator of ISTE briefed about the program.
During the program Sri. Rama Naik, Traffic SI, Puttur addressed the gathering about road safety, impact of accidents and traffic rules and regulations. Sri. Vishwanath Naik, Asst. RTO, Mangaluru addressed the gathering about different types of pollution, how we can control pollution and what is our part in controlling the pollution. Prof. Nisha G R proposed the vote of thanks. Program was coordinated by Prof. Ajith K and Prof. Tapaswini. Ms. Bhuvaneshwari was the master of ceremony. HOD’s of various department, NSS department coordinators, Teaching & Non teaching staff and NSS Volunteers attended the program. After the program at 2.00 pm in two locations of puttur namely padil and mura NSS Volunteers have taken part in bringing awareness among the public by distributing pamphlets regarding pollution control and pasting the stickers on to the public vehicle. 82 Volunteers participated in this event.
