The Basic Science department of Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur, organized Parents–Teachers meeting of first year B.E. on 8-06-2024, Saturday in association with Parent Relation Cell, VCET, Puttur. The meeting had begun with the registrations. The parents were guided to the particular section of their ward, where parents had a chance to interact with all the course teachers who are teaching their ward. Personally student mentors attended each ward and their parent in the presence of academic adviser of the corresponding division. Later the formal function held at Sri Rama Sabhabhavana Seminar Hall, Sudarshana Block at 11:30 AM. The main purpose of the meet was to create a common platform where parents and teachers have a positive communication for the all-round development of the student and achieve targets of effective education. At the beginning of the program, students showcased their talents through a beautiful classical dance and a classical song. Prof. Thejaswini L P, Assistant Professor,

Department of Basic Science welcomed the gathering. Later Dr. Mahesh Prasanna K, Principal, VCET, Puttur highlighted the important points regarding attendance, Internal Assessment marks of 22-scheme. The academic toppers of first semester of all branches were felicitated. Later, Parents interacted with Governing Council members, VCET. Dr.Mahesh Prasanna K , Principal, VCET, had satisfactorily answered all the queries asked by the parents. Sri Ravikrishna D Kallaje, Director, Governing Council, VCET addressed the gathering by giving importance to the equal cooperation of faculties and parents in the positive development of students. He also emphasized on the point that our teachers are always ready to help students and it is the duty of the students to approach course teachers for their doubts. The President of the function Sri T Subhrahmanya Bhat, Correspondent, Governing Council, VCET, Puttur advised the parents to closely watch the daily routine activities of their wards and requested the parents to monitor the academic performance of the students and also requested to continue to communicate with the institutions. At the end of the program Dr. Shwethambika P, Assistant Professor, Basic Science Department & Coordintaor, Parent relation Cell, proposed vote of thanks. Prof. Reshma and Prof. Soujanya M M, Assistant Professors, Department of Basic Science were the masters of ceremony. After the formal function lunch was served and about 80 parents had participated in the meeting.
