Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology  Puttur

The Basic Science department of Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur, organized Parents–Teachers meeting of first year B.E. on 04-12-2023, Monday in association with Parent Relation Cell, VCET, Puttur. The meeting had begun with the registrations. The parents were guided to the particular section of their ward, where parents had a chance to interact with all the course teachers who are teaching their ward. Personally, student mentors attended each ward and their parents in the presence of academic adviser of the corresponding division. Later the formal function held at Sri Rama Sabhabhavana Seminar Hall, Sudarshana Block at 3:00 PM. The main purpose of the meet was to create a common platform where parents and teachers have a positive communication for the all-round development of the student and achieve targets of effective education. The introductory speech was done by Prof. M Ramananda Kamath, Head, Department of Basic Science and he also welcomed the gathering.

Prof. Thejswini L P, Assistant Professor, Department of Basic Science briefed about the roles and responsibility of Parent Relation Cell and welcomed the new FY-Parent representatives of various branch. The academic toppers of second semester of all branches were felicitated. Later Dr. Mahesh Prasanna K, Principal, VCET, Puttur highlighted the important points regarding attendance, Internal Assessment marks of 22-scheme. Later, Parents interacted with Governing Council members, VCET. Dr.Mahesh Prasanna K , Principal, VCET, had satisfactorily answered all the queries asked by the parents. Dr. Yashoda Ramachandra, Director, Governing Council, VCET addressed the gathering by giving comparison of strength in a fist to the unity of parent, teacher, institution, staffs and student. President of the function Sri. Ravikrishna D Kallaje, Director, Governing Council, VCET, Puttur advised the parents to closely watch the daily routine activities of their wards and requested the parents to monitor the academic performance of the students. He also emphasized on the point that our teachers are always ready to help students and it is the duty of the students to approach course teachers for their doubts and also requested to continue to communicate with the institutions. At the end of the programme Prof. Shreesharanya U R, Assistant Professor & Basic Science Coordinator, Parent relation Cell, proposed vote of thanks. Prof. Soujanya M M and Prof. Nikhila T, Assistant Professors, Department of Basic Science were the master of ceremonies. After the formal function refreshment food was served and about 180 parents had participated in the meeting.
