“Chilume 2022” was celebrated at as an intra-collegiate mega event at our institute level from 20th  June to 22nd June, 2022. Institute Cultural and Extra Curricular Cell “Bhoomika Kala Sangha” had planned the entire Chiulme event. The event comprised of 28 different competitions under the sections of “Chittara”, “Baraha”, “Harate”, “Gayana”, “Narthana”, “Natane” and “Vishishta”. More than 1200 students participated in various events and bagged many prizes.

“Vishishta” section included a new competition “Food Fest”, which had witnessed grand success with large number of students’ footprints from sister institution of VCET also.  The events were coordinated in college premises, and the whole event was presented by students as “Chilume Spoof” videos. Esteemed GC members of the institute also visited the Chilume events and supported the students via their words of encouragement.

The event had a banging closure with the mega event “General Variety competition” which was conducted between students from different years of engineering and PG department also. The Jury panel consisted of Dr. Viajaya Saraswathi, Cooridnator, Vivekananda P.G. Center and Sri. Balakrishna Hosamane, A renowned Akashavani artist. Fisrt year students were announced as winners and Pre-final year students won the runners in “General Variety competition”.

Sri. Ramkumar, Member, Advisory Board, VCET had addressed the students as Chief guest of the event.  Sri. Subrahmanya T. S. Bhat, Correspondent,  VCET presided over the function and had motivated the students with his words of wisdom. The winners of “General Variety” were awarded with prize for the whole participating team. Runners and Winners of “Chiume-22” were distributed with championship trophies on institute annual day “VIBGYOR-22”. Principal Dr. Mahesh Prasanna had graced the occasion. Final year students won the runners trophy and Pre-final year students won the Championship trophy of the “Chilume-22”.

Prof. Sudarshan M.L. , had coordinated the whole event as the chief coordinator of CECC. Prof. Shwethambika P., Co- Coordinated the event. Ms. Deepa Khandige, Cultural Secretary of the institute constantly worked for the success of the event with team of student coordinators from UG and PG courses.
