The blood donation camp was organized in Vivekananda College of engineering and technology, Puttur on 18/1/2022. It was conducted with the joint collaboration of Rotary club Puttur City, Youth Red Cross and Rotary Campco blood bank. At 9.30 am, the chief guest of the function, Dr. Ramachandra Bhat Chief Medical officer, Rotary Campco Blood Bank Puttur inaugurated the blood donation camp by lighting the lamp. 

The resource person of the function Dr. Ramachandra Bhat, Chief Medical officer Rotary Campco Blood Bank Puttur spoke about the significance of blood donation. He explained the different processing stages of blood after collecting it and basic health requirements in order to donate the blood. In his speech, he mentioned about the major health benefits to blood donors by donating the blood yearly. 

The chief guest of the function Sri.Prashanth Shenoy, the elected president of Rotary Club Puttur City inspired students to donate the blood and to save the lives.

Sri. T S Subrahmanya Bhat, Correspondent, VCET Governing Council, the president of the function spoke about the importance of blood donation to the society. He stressed on the owing need of blood in the society and commended the young volunteers for their noble act.

He motivated students to donate blood in large count in upcoming days. He also expressed his gratitude to Youth Red Cross unit of the college for its continuous endeavor in this regard.

60 units of blood was collected in the camp. The re-energize the blood donors, juice was given. The certificates for the donors were distributed by Rotary Campco blood bank.

 Dr. Mahesh Prasanna K, The principal, VCET Puttur welcomed the gathering. Mr. Ajay Shastry C G, Assistant Professor, Dept. of AIML and Coordinator of Youth Red Cross Unit, VCET proposed vote of thanks and Ms. Shrinidhi (3rd Sem AIML) represented the programme.
