Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology  Puttur

Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology in association with Institute Image Building Cell (IIBC) and VCET IEEE Student Branch conducted a workshop from 7th February to 10th February 2022. The aim of the workshop was that a series of activities is organized for 10th standard students of Vivekananda English Medium School (VEMS) to know the importance of science and to guide them to take up Science after 10th. The various sessions in the workshop was conducted by faculty members and the students of various departments of VCET.

VEMS Students were invited according to the section-wise where section A, B and C visited on 7th and 8th of February 2022 and section D, E and F visited on 9th and 10th of February 2022.

First day on behalf of VCET family, Dr. Jeevitha B K, Prof. Swapnalaxmi K and Prof. Shreyas H welcomed the faculty and students. The first session is based on Web designing where Mr. Varun Rai briefed the basics in AV hall then the students are grouped into 4 batches and headed to computer labs to have the hands-on session on web designing where the students are guided to create a website. Same batches are taken to Chemistry, Physics, Electronics, Civil and Mechanical laboratory to see various experiments. Then, Prof.Shylesh B C from the Department of MCA discussed about Ethical Hacking and Cyber Security.

Second day, Prof Sunil K C from the Department of Physics briefly explained the importance of Science and inspired the students to take up Science after 10th. At the end of the workshop the students are asked with few Quiz question as well as few memory games so that students can have some fun, knowledge and also to gain chocolates as prize.
