Vivekananda School of Management Studies (VSMS) in association with College Internal Complaint Committee (CICC) has organized a special talk on “Women Empowerment” on the occasion of International Women’s Day, on Tuesday, the 8th March, 2022 at Sri Rama Sabhabhavana, Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur.

After the formal function, the session on Women’s Empowerment was started at 11:30 am. Smt. Vidya R Gowri, Vice President, City Municipal Council, Puttur mentioned that “Education and Change are the greatest Weapons/Tools for Women Empowerment”. She highlighted Four key aspects which play a major role in women’s empowerment. To be empowered women should know about Herself, she should get support from her Family, Society should understand and accept her and meanwhile she should get support from the Government in the forms of many schemes which are available for women and their development. She also emphasized that women should aware of the discrimination and inequality that she has experienced, she should also be aware of their inabilities. Women should have education, good health, skill and knowledge, financial independence, emotional stability and they should participate in Social Activities. The session was ended at 12:30 pm followed by questions and answers. It was an inspired, informative, interactive and fruitful session.
