The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology (VCET), Puttur, in association with the Artificial Intelligence Students Association (AISA) and the Alumni Cell, organized an alumni talk titled “From Code to Confidence: Test Automation and CI” on 13 October 2026 at 11:00 AM through Microsoft Teams.
The programme commenced with Nirmala G Hegde serving as the master of ceremonies and welcoming the gathering. Harshini K S introduced the resource person, Mr. Vinayak Siddeshwar (2007 batch), an alumnus of VCET and Automation Framework Manager at Sage Intacct.
During the session, Mr. Vinayak Siddeshwar shared valuable insights into test automation, automation frameworks, and Continuous Integration (CI). He explained how automation testing improves software quality, reduces repetitive manual effort, and enhances the efficiency of software development and testing processes. He also highlighted the importance of integrating automated testing into continuous integration workflows to enable early defect detection, faster feedback, and reliable software delivery.
The talk provided students with practical industry insights and helped them understand the skills and competencies required for careers in software testing and automation engineering. The session served as a valuable platform to bridge the gap between academic learning and industry expectations.
More than 110 students from the 5th and 7th semesters of the AIML department benefited from the session. The programme was informative and insightful, motivating students to strengthen their technical knowledge and prepare for industry requirements.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Sristi Shetty, who expressed gratitude to the resource person, organizers, and everyone who contributed to the successful conduct of the event.
