The Department of MBA at Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council, successfully organized Impact Spark 2026, a Social Innovation Business Plan Challenge, on 29 April 2026 at Savarkar Sabhabhavana. Centered on the theme “Create Value, Change Lives,” the event brought together academicians, industry experts, and aspiring student entrepreneurs to address real-world social challenges through innovative and sustainable business ideas.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Sri Krishna Narayana Muliya, CEO and Managing Director of Muliya Jewellers, as Chief Guest. He highlighted the importance of innovation-driven entrepreneurship and encouraged students to align business ideas with societal impact, citing successful regional enterprises. Dr. Mahesh Prasanna K., Principal, emphasized creative thinking and the growing opportunities for startups in smaller towns. Sri Sathyanarayana B., Director of the Governing Council, presided over the function and motivated students to explore entrepreneurship beyond conventional career paths.
Dr. Robin Manohar Shinde, Director of the MBA Department, welcomed the gathering and outlined the department’s industry-focused initiatives. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ashley D’Souza, Assistant Professor and Event Coordinator.
The valedictory ceremony recognized outstanding teams, with University College, Konaje securing first place, followed by Sri Rama College, Kaladka, and Vivekananda College (Autonomous), Puttur. Winners received cash prizes and trophies for their innovative and socially impactful ideas.
The event also featured an AI and Business Expo and interactive activities, engaging over 350 participants from across Dakshina Kannada. Impact Spark 2026 concluded successfully, celebrating innovation, collaboration, and entrepreneurial spirit.
