Let the Game Begin
Description of the program
The Department of Master of Computer Applications (MCA), Vivekananda College of
Engineering & Technology (VCET), Puttur, successfully organized “Bale Gobbuga”, a Lagori
competition, on 25th June 2026. The event was conducted to encourage teamwork, physical
fitness, sportsmanship, and to promote traditional Indian games among students.
A total of 7 teams, each comprising 8 members, enthusiastically participated in the competition.
The matches were played with great energy and competitive spirit, providing participants with an
enjoyable and engaging experience. Students demonstrated excellent coordination, strategy, and
team collaboration throughout the event.
Team 1 emerged as the winners of the competition. The winning team comprised Adithya
Sharma M, Akshatha, Krithika, Likin B M, Pranamya, Reshma, Shetty Varshitha Uday, and
Varshitha, whose outstanding coordination, determination, and sportsmanship led them to victory.
The event concluded successfully with active participation from all teams, fostering camaraderie
and creating a vibrant sporting atmosphere within the department. Bale Gobbuga served as a
refreshing recreational activity that strengthened team spirit while celebrating the cultural
significance of the traditional game of Lagori
