





Puttur: The Final Year MCA students of Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology, Puttur, brought laurels to the institution by successfully participating in the “Byndooru Utsav–2026 – Project Expo”, held from 24/01/2026 to 26/01/2026, where they showcased innovative IoT-based projects with strong social relevance. The projects presented included “SafeBuddy: An Intelligent System for Passenger Safety and Driver Health Monitoring,” “Smart Mushroom Growth Monitoring and Automation System,” “SmartStep: IoT-Enabled Footstep Power Generation and Utilization,” “IoT-Based KSRTC Local Bus Arrival and Departure Monitoring System,” “IoT-Enabled Smart Ambulance with Real-Time Traffic Signal Priority and Hospital Integration,” and “SmartCattle IoT: The Intelligent Cow Farm Management System,” developed and presented by Havyas B, Srujan Kumar B, Rakshith B, Karthik Nayak, Rachan P M, and Deeksha. The projects were carried out under the guidance of Dr Jothimani K, Dr Rajeshwari M, Mr Anirudh B G S, Mr Anil Kumar K, and Ms Poojalakshmi, whose academic mentoring played a key role in their successful execution. The students were appreciated for their technical competence, social responsibility, disciplined conduct, and effective presentation skills. In recognition of their achievement, the students were felicitated with mementos by Byndooru MLA Sri Gururaj Gantihole and Udupi MLA Sri Yashpal Suvarna.
