The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology (VCET) successfully organized an industry-expert talk titled “Navigating the IT Industry: Evolution, Disruption and Opportunity” on 08-05-2026 at 2.00 PM in the Smart Classroom, Krishna Chethana Block. The session was delivered by Shreevara K., Digital Specialist at Infosys, who is also a distinguished
alumnus of VCET from the 2017 E&C batch. Around 60 students of the 6th semester actively participated in the program and benefited from theexpert interaction. The event served as an excellent platform for students to gain practical insights into the rapidly evolving IT industry and understand the emerging opportunities available for aspiring engineers. During the session, the speaker discussed the evolution of the IT sector, the
impact of disruptive technologies, and the increasing significance of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, Cybersecurity, and Data Analytics in transforming industries and creating new career opportunities.
The program was gracefully compered and coordinated by Ms. Srijanya, a 6th semester AI student, who efficiently handled the master of ceremony responsibilities and formal proceedings of the event. Prof. Ajay Shastry C. G., Coordinator of AISA, warmly welcomed the guest by presenting a rose bouquet. During the interactive session, the speaker emphasized the importance of continuous learning, technical expertise, communication skills, adaptability, and problem-solving abilities required to succeed in the competitive corporate environment. Students enthusiastically participated in the discussion and clarified their queries regarding career growth, placement preparation, industry expectations, and future
technological trends. As a token of appreciation and gratitude, a memento was presented to the resource person by Prof. Abhishek Kumar K., Head of the Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning at VCET. The session concluded successfully with a vote of thanks, leaving the students motivated and inspired to prepare themselves for future opportunities in the IT industry
