The Department of Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning organized an industry interaction
webinar titled “Leveraging AI in Tech” on 14 August 2026 at 9:00 AM under the initiative of Prof. Shruthi S Bangera through MicrosoftTeams. The session featured Mr. Abhinav K, Google, Canada, who shared his inspiring
11-year professional journey, including five years at Google.
The interactive and engaging session was attended by 95 students from the 5th and 7th
semesters, along with faculty members and the Head of the Department.
The discussion focused on resume building, Data Structures and Algorithms, programming
fundamentals, modular career planning, coding practice, referrals, internships, projects,
open-source contributions, and handling rejections constructively. The speaker also
provided valuable insights into the Google interview process, including screening, DSA,
domain-specific rounds, and the Googliness round.
A major focus of the session was the changing role of Artificial Intelligence in software
development. Mr. Abhinav shared his perspectives on AI tools such as GitHub Copilot,
Claude, and Antigravity, as well as emerging concepts including vibe coding, AI-assisted
development, LLMs, and the evolution from software engineers to software
orchestrators. He emphasized the importance of leveraging AI effectively while critically
reviewing, validating, and taking responsibility for its output.
The session concluded with a strong motivational message: with hard work, consistency,
curiosity, and a hunger to learn, students from any background can aspire to reach
global technology companies.
The welcome and guest introduction were delivered by Ms. Dhanya B. K., 7th Semester AI &
ML, and the Vote of Thanks was proposed by Prof. Shruthi S Bangera.
The programme served as a valuable industry-academia interaction and
placement-readiness initiative, inspiring students to approach their career preparation with
greater clarity, consistency, and confidence.
