Department of Basic Science in association with ISTE-VCET Chapter organized ‘SYNERGY’ on the occasion of National Science Day (NSD) -2024 with the theme ‘Indigenous Technologies for Viksit Bharat’. Various competitions such as Mock Press, Science Quiz, Case Study and Sci-Fi-VCET were conducted for the students on this occasion. A formal function was organized after the conduction of all competitions. Sri T S Subrahmanya Bhat was the president of the programme. Along with the president, Dr. Mahesh Prasanna, Principal,VCET, Prof. Thejaswini L P, in-charge HOD of Basic Science Department, Dr. Raveesha P M & Dr. Shreesha Bhat, Coordinators of NSD-2024 were on the dais. Invocation was done by Kum. Sinchana Lakshmi of 5th semester CD branch. Dr. Raveesha P M one of the coordinator of NSD-2024 welcomed the gathering. Kumari Sharada Kusuma Rao of 3rd semester CS branch spoke about science day celebration. Prizes were given for the winners of various competitions in the National Science Day-2024 and National Mathematics Day (which was conducted in the month of December 2023). Sri T S Subrahmanya Bhat, Correspondent VCET governing council delivered the presidential remark. Sir spoke about importance of science in technical field and everyday life. He addressed the gathering by explaining the involvement of science in each and every aspects of our life. Further he added that it is important to have updated knowledge about all the possible areas of science. Students should also show interest and attend in various training programs conducting in the college. Kumari P Shreya Shetty of 1st year AI & Kumari Shrutha of 1st year CD branch were the Master of Ceremony.

The event closed with the vote of thanks rendered by Dr. Shreesha Bhat one of the coordinator of NSD-2024. The program was conducted under the guidance of Prof. Thejaswini L P, in-charge HoD of Basic Science Department and coordinated by Dr. Raveesha P M & Dr. Shreesha Bhat with the active involvement and contribution of all fellow colleagues and students.
