Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology

Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur in association with ACES and IEEE VCET Student Branch, VCET Puttur, had organized an event “Chathuram” which was held on March 1st, 2024. It was an incredible day filled with fun and excitement. The guest for the event is Prof. Prakash Kumar P, HoD, Department of Computer Science, Vivekananda College, Puttur, adding a touch of wisdom and knowledge to the event.

The President of the function was Shri T S Subramanya Bhat, Correspondent, VCET Puttur. The Principal Dr. Mahesh Prasanna K spoke about the various opportunity in the computer science field. Dr. Nischay Kumar Hegde, HOD, Department of Computer science and Engineering spoke about the scope of computer science.

There were totally ten competitions in the Chathuram. The event was started at 9:00 am with Treasure hunt an exciting challenge of solving puzzles and following clues to uncover hidden treasures which had 84 teams. Awareness skit allowing participants to convey important messages through the art of acting had 4 teams, Dumb charades event with 23 teams, Shark tank competition, where the place to pitch the ideas to a panel of experts and investors had 4 participants, Technical Quiz with 29 teams, Code Debugger competition to showcase coding skills had 26 teams, Mad Ad had 5 teams, Games that are BGMI and Free Fire had 24 teams together, Technical talk had 7 participants and Reels making had 3 participants.

Chathuram was coordinated by more than 30 coordinators from 4th year and 3rd year CSE students where they undertook the responsibility of conducting various events in a discipline and making an event a grand success. Snacks was arranged at the end of formal function for 500 students and 100 staff. The Event was winded up by prize distribution ceremony by complimenting the winners by certificates and prize money. Dr. Nischay Kumar Hegde HoD, CSE and Coordinator Prof. Pramod Kumar P.M distributed the prizes to winners. Final year student Hithaishi Shetty hosted the program.

Chathuram was not just an event; it's a day to come together, laugh, learn, and create unforgettable memories. It's a celebration of friendship, fun, and fantastic activities to make this event truly special. ACES Coordinator Prof. Pramod Kumar P.M took the responsibility of conducting the event in the college campus. Formal function was hosted by ACES student joint secretary Ms. Nithyashree. Ms. Vindyashree from final year introduced the guest to the gathering. ACES student president Mr. Lathesh N S welcomed the guest and all gatherings. ACES student secretary Mr. Shashank Rao P delivered the vote of thanks.
