Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur organized inauguration of “Industry connect IoT lab” on September 24, 2018.

Function was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Dr.Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat, President,Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha ,Puttur.On this occasion he told having a Industry connect IoT lab will facilitate continuous learning in technical institution and also best wishes were conveyed .  Mr.Sudharshan M L, Assistant Professor,Department of Mechanical Engineering initiated the program with the prayer. Prof.Gurusandesh M, Coordinator,Industry Connect IoT lab, VCET,Puttur. welcomed the dignitaries. Sri.Muralidhar Bhat, Treasurer,Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology governing council,Puttur. addressed the gathering. He told that innovations are a part of our daily life activities, through this lab innovative projects will be coming out in future. Prof.Roopa G K , Assistant Professor,Department of Computer science Engineering introduced the Chief guest to the gathering.

Chief Guest:Sri.V.V.Bhat, Rtd.Senior IAS,officer addressed the gathering. He told that through this lab from the daily life activities by collecting the views from outside people practical problems should be analysed and then solution to that should be found out. This should be relevant for society and overall development of student and faculties.All the faculties and staffs should work together and multidisciplinary projects should be coming out. This will also enable researchers ,students to undergo internship by taking different project approaches.He gave a example of Tele exchange and Transportation system ,traffic controll system to show multidisciplinary approach in the processs. He conveyed best wishes and continuous inputs ,support to the Team.

Prof.Ashwini P,Assistant Professor,Department of Computer science Engineering introduced the guest of honour to the gathering.
Guest of Honour:Sri.Pradeep Kumar C ,Solution Architect,Research & Design Lab, Mangalore. Addressed the gathering.He told need of IoT in today's world.Once technology matures the products life cycle ends.This is seen in wireless applications ,automobile developments.Now its a right time to contribute something for IoT development since it is now a undergoing process.By looking for job openings we should work on the projects by correlating the topics that student studies in academics. Students and faculties should have passion towards learning and gave examples of automation,power management and saving water in and around though the IoT lab He conveyed best wishes and also gave a assurance of rendering support in future too to initiate start ups.

Principal Dr. M S Govinde Gowda addressed the gathering. He told students after completion of degree will be employable only if they have hands on experience on practical aspects other than syllabus learning.So attending conference ,workshops,paper presentation will provide a way for employments in future. From AICTE and VTU it is made compulsory to do internships by students. He told the different applications of IoT in daily life such as smart card preparations,health care,diagnosis of disease to treatment.By wearing jacket made up of sensors by patient ,a doctor who is oversees can prescribe medicines.In Israel ,Contolling water,providing fertilizers is possible through IoT.Also he added that in future incubation center will be set up and by taking the practical problems from outsider get solutions in the lab provided.All were requested to make best utilization of the lab by their own.As Vivekananda College of Engineering & Technology is good in academics in results in all years of engineering ,by having hands on experience will make more students employable in future .He conveyed best wishes on this occasion.
Sri. Satheesh Rao P also addressed the audience.When a person is humble,dedicated and has passion can make best use of learning center.He told observe,watch and think these three key words will enable a way for success of IoT lab.
